The Department of Health and Human Services, through the Victorian Cancer Survivorship Program: Phase II, has opened a 2018 Type 1, Capacity Building Grants funding round, to build on the successes already achieved in cancer survivorship care.
The grants will provide up to $100,000 to eligible services, to fund a maximum of five projects over the course of 12 months.
Services can leverage existing funding or initiatives, adopt an existing model or address a specific survivorship matter or resource need. The funding is for projects that re-design services, develop new models of care, develop new resources etc.
The 2018, Type 1 funding round will have a specific focus on underserved groups including:
- People with low survival cancers
- New treatments extending the period of survivorship
- Aboriginal Victorians
- Elderly / frail
- Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD)
- Low socio-economic status
- Rural and regional areas
This funding scheme is now open and will close at 2pm on 13 February 2018.

Successful projects will need to commence on 31 May 2018 and be completed by 30 May 2019.
